Grant Barnes
MSc PGDipCHE MRICS
Chartered Surveyor
In the early 1990s, an Economics and Management degree led to an early career in investment banking as a portfolio analyst and offshore dealer working in the City of London. A desire to specialise in property investment led Grant back to Reading University to train to become a Chartered Surveyor.
After graduating he spent the next two years working in Mayfair for Richard Ellis (now CBRE) and Gerald Eve before joining Bradford & Bingley (BBG) Surveyors in 2001. The demise of the Bank led to the next ten years working in the residential sector with Countrywide in the Home Counties when he undertook a postgraduate diploma in Historic Building Conservation. He then returned to central London to join Allsop LLP as an Associate Director dealing with residential single property and multi tenanted mixed use portfolios for institutions and private clients.
Grant now works as a consultant dealing with commercial valuations but specialises in residential survey and valuation work.
